This is one of the first soundtracks that I heard and liked the sound of for the opening scene of Identical. I particularly liked the opening of this song as it is calm and relaxed and this is the exact atmosphere that I wanted to create at beginning of the Opening Scene of Identical. However, the rest of the soundtrack didn't appeal to me as much because even though there were the odd long violin note that created a lil bit of suspense in the audience, it wasn't enough suspense that I wanted to create in the atmosphere. Overall, this soundtrack also seemed a bit too jolly and happy for a horror film, so I didn't choose this for the soundtrack of Identical.
Crypt Creeper is an amazing soundtrack to use for the opening scene of a horror film like Identical because it has the correct amount of tension and suspense that is perfect for an opening scene with the genre of horror with the deep long notes that are used. However, I found that this soundtrack is very limited in the sense that it was too short to fit the full two minutes of the Opening Scene. Even though I could just repeat the soundtrack one after the other, I felt that it would sound unusual and wouldn't fit the entire storyline at certain points as tension could have been created in atmospheres where I wanted it to be calm, which is not what I wanted to achieve.
At the beginning of the opening scene of Identical I wanted to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere as I have mentioned above. I felt that Infinite Puddle definately achieves this criteria. It was a definate possibility to use this backing soundtrack because it also sounds like a popular dance tune that an actual teenager would listen by BassHunter. Because it sounds like a dance tune, it could link to my target audience of teenagers as well as the two main characters in Identical and could attractmy target audience as this tune may be something they are interested in or something that they would normally listen to. However as you kno this isn't the soundtrack that I used in Identical mainly because again I thought it was too calm and relaxed anf it wouldn't fit the parts where real horror and fear is needed to be created.
The Axeman Cometh is a great soundtrack. It gives off tension and suspense with the long violin notes that are used and also has this rhythmed beat that could connote the beating of Imogen's heart as she approaches her possessed twin Amanda. This I felt was the perfect soundtrack that would fit my storyline perfectly on screen because at different times into the soundtrack, there are calm bits which I could have used in the beginning of Identical. The only main reason why I didn't use this soundtrack was because this soundtrack was used on another member of my media class's work. I did not realise this till I watched her animatic, therefore I did not want to use the same soundtrack as I wanted my Opening Scene of Identical to be different and unique.
The 3rd Place is the last and final soundtrack that I found and made the final cut of the Opening Scene of Identical. I am really pleased with this soundtrack as it achieves all the moods that I wanted to create in Identical. I especially like the sudden piercing sound at the beginning of the soundtrack. It is calm and relaxed in some places and creates tension and suspense in other places. The parts of the soundtrack that are calm and relaxed are parts where there is that deep note that is constantly being played in the background throughout the soundtrack. The parts that create tension and suspense are the parts where there is a loud piercing sound that starts off low and gets louder and louder and then just stops abruptly. This soundtrack is a full three minutes and my opening clip was only two minutes so what I did was pick out the best bits of this soundtrack and fit them with the action that was happening on screen. So initially I had made my very own soundtrack to fit the needs and purpose of the opening scene of Identical.
